Apricot Glazed Haricots Verts with Bacon (Organic)
I had a fantastic article planned to share with you guys today, but for some reason WordPress doesn’t like my outline form and no matter how I try to fix the formatting it won’t allow it. So instead of tinkering with it any longer, and because it’s 5:10 in the morning and I haven’t gone to sleep yet- I thought I’d share this recipe. It’s Easter weekend and you may be in need of a fresh, vibrant, different side dish to go along with your Easter ham. This one fits the bill. You can even make it vegetarian by eliminating the bacon. Just don’t tell me if you do. It’ll make me cry…
Meat and Cheese Stromboli & Pizza Sauce
Today is all about Stromboli. Not the money-grubbing Gypsy puppeteer from Pinocchio, but the rolled turnover type “sandwich” that is stuffed with tasty pizza toppings. Whenever I’m not in the mood to get all “Paisano Pizzeria” and construct the perfect pizza, I throw together a Stromboli. This is Italian street food my friends. I’ll not only show you how to make Stromboli, but I’m sharing my pizza sauce recipe, too. A few weeks back I shared my Fail-Proof Organic Pizza Dough recipe. I’ve been using this recipe for a few years now because it’s one of the few doughs I’ve experimented with that not only makes a good crust for pizza, but it…
Roasted Red Pepper Hummus & Parmesan Herb Pita Chips
I think I missed my calling as Weird Al Yankovic’s side kick. I know I only have like 3 seconds to capture a reader’s attention, and thought that a fun song about Chickpeas set to the famous BeeGee’s tune “You Should Be Dancin'” was a great way to do just that. And because now you’re all totally curious what a song about Garbanzo/Chickpeas would sound like and about how I might manage to slaughter a perfectly good BeeGees tune, I bring you my song: “You Should Really Make Some Hummus”… Here is a little video to get the right tune in your head. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CaXdTe2TYhs “You Should Really Make Some Hummus” By: Real Food…
Tasty Taco Salads
Just as I promised you in the Holy Guacamole post the other day, here is my taco salad recipe! Hopefully you’re excited, because I am. Just writing the post for this recipe has me in the mood for one. This really was a tasty taco salad. Bookmark this recipe, and click on the envelope to your left and email this recipe to your inbox and to some friends. You’ll be glad you did, and your friends will thank you, too! Do you know what else makes this recipe special? The fact that I’m posting this on The Stud Muffin and my 17th wedding anniversary. Actually, we were married on Leap Day, so we…
Holy Guacamole!
My guacamole isn’t really holy, not in the spiritual sense of the word anyway… It’s just that there are zero catchy recipe titles for guacamole and I felt like spicing things up. The Stud Muffin has really developed a taste for avocados. I wasn’t sure he’d ever eat them after being told countless times that he hated them, he hated guacamole and nothing would change his mind. Until I made guacamole one night and he had it on a taco. BOOM! Yeah, that’s the sound of TSMs mind being blown.
Cheddar Bacon BBQ Meatloaves
Today I have a fun twist on your everyday meatloaf. The Stud Muffin and I like meatloaf. Don’t believe me? Just look (Here) and (Here) and you’ll see just how much. I once landed a free-lance writing assignment where I would assist 2 other free-lance writers in coming up with 100 meatloaf recipes for the Client’s cookbook. I wasn’t keen on the fact that I would lose rights to any recipe(s) that I submitted. I could never claim these recipes as my own, blog about them, talk about them or share them. That didn’t seem groovy to me at all, so I graciously backed out and decided that free-lance food writing was not…
Pan Seared Pork Chops with Mustard Cream Sauce- (Organic/GMO-Free)
Isn’t that a beautiful thing? I must say that a properly seared pork chop brings tears of happiness to my eyes. If you’re a child of the 60s or 70s you probably ate your fair share of pork chops that were dry as saw dust because back then our folks were told to cook pork until bone dry and then cook it some more. That way, when you cut into it, you’ll start a small fire and you’ll know it’s safe to eat. Thankfully times have changed and we don’t have to torture ourselves with dried-up pork chops that resemble a leather flip flop. If you have a meat loving male in…
Cheeseburgers with Onion Bacon Jam (Organic/GMO-Free)
Accept my sincerest apologies for going on and on about my Onion Bacon Jam. I honestly can’t help it. It’s that good. I was just telling TSM that I am going to enter it into some type of bacon recipe contest because I nailed it with this recipe.
